Culture Days Manitoba is looking for volunteers to assist in the production of our 2016 celebration from Sept.30 - Oct. 2. Culture Days Manitoba is a collaborative pan-Canadian volunteer movement to raise awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. The seventh annual Culture Days weekend will feature thousands of free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind-the-scenes,” to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, designers and other creative people in their communities.
We have a volunteer orientation taking place on Monday, September 19 from 5:30pm-7:30pm on the 4th floor of ACI Manitoba at 245 McDermot Ave (above the boxing gym). Please RSVP to mb[at]culturedays[dot]ca if you will be attending by September 16.
Volunteer opportunities with Culture Days Manitoba offer participants the chance to help coordinate various cultural events taking place across the province over the last weekend in September. A few of the Winnipeg locations in need of volunteers are as follows:
Student Day at The Forks (Friday, September 30)
Volunteers at Student Day will be required to facilitate the Culture Days information booth, check-in school groups as they arrive at the venue, help set up groups for their performances, as well as support the coordination of various cultural workshops.
In addition to more general jobs, we are looking specifically for volunteer photographers who are looking for opportunities to grow their portfolio and capture photos for next year's social media posts and print materials (you get photo credit!). Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with some photo samples if you have them - links or attachments are good - so we can place you according to your interests and strengths.
If you would like to volunteer with Culture Days Manitoba or Nuit Blanche Winnipeg, please email us at mb[at]culturedays[dot]ca, or call 204-942-8221 to get started.
